Meet Our Staff

Our Compassionate Caregivers are extensively trained, and many have experience with specialty care including Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s and Hospice care. Home Helpers Caregivers are employees, not subcontractors, who are thoroughly screened, background checked and insured by workers’ compensation and unemployment to ensure you and your loved ones are fully protected.

What Our Caregivers Say About Working for Home Helpers

Working for Home Helpers is a great experience for me. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of clients. My days are never boring. Over the course of a week, I provide a much needed break for a family affected by dementia, I prepare nutritious meals for a couple who are no longer able to spend hours in the kitchen, I remind some clients to take their medicine or help someone into the shower, and provide transportation and companionship for others. I learn so much from my clients; local history, personal stories from their military service, musical variety, old family recipes. In return, I help clients retain independence and assure the families that their loved one is healthy and safe. Doing laundry, washing dishes, emptying trash cans, and scrubbing a bathroom is a fair trade for the smiles, hugs and words of appreciation I receive.

I love my job for so many reasons. The very most important one to me is feeling good that maybe for just a little while; I’ve brightened up my clients’ day. Almost a year ago; I was given my very first Alzheimer’s client ever. I had to learn how to approach that person each day with varying behaviors being displayed and how to re-direct this person. With the classes I attended given by Debra at the Alzheimer’s Association; I learned a lot of techniques. My client has also taught me some life lessons including patience and gratitude. My day is brightened up by just seeing my client and I forget the rest of my problems. Debra, Julie and Paul make things easier for me. Thank you Home Helpers!

I enjoy working for Home Helpers and the clients because it’s very rewarding. I love helping people, and the relationships we build with these individuals are like no other. Many of our clients have so much wisdom to offer, we try to soak it in as much as possible. All in all, we not only help the clients, but the families as well. To know we can take a little burden or stress off the family is the greatest feeling. Knowing at the end of the day I’ve put a smile on someone’s face is the best feeling in the world. These individuals have made a great impact on my life and I hope to meet many more.

Listening to my clients stories and helping them connect to their vital selves is a rewarding part of my job with Home Helpers. Along the way I’ve learned: valuable pointers to improve my bowling game, I have learned about farming on local land, seen and touched a beautiful array of hand thrown pottery, and learned about childhood life in Latvia. With some clients, I get to read aloud, while others, I dance! Some like taking a walk or going out to eat. All of them cherish the companionship.

I love my job because you get the opportunity to help people with activities of daily life that they are unable or it’s hard for them to do. It helps me to appreciate life, and enjoy just the simple things. Having to be a caregiver for my grandmother at an early age really helped me to realize that, hey, this is what I’m good at, I’m going to help people, and that’s what I did. Thanks Debra for the additional training and helpful handouts, and Julie for just being there to answer any questions that arise. Definitely a great team of people to work for and to work with. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I Like working for Home Helpers because I’ve seen many smiles from clients and the family members whom I have helped, in addition to hearing “thank you” from the families as I have sent great caregivers to take care of their loved ones. I love my job and I love Home Helpers.

I became a caregiver because I care and love the Elderly, making a difference in someone’s life, seeing the smile of your patients face makes me feel useful and important. The time spent on providing care for the elderly can be a joyous and enriching experience. I love the fact that I can actually help someone who needs help, or just to see them smile because you are being kind to them. That means a lot. Being a caregiver for the past 19+ years I can say there is no job more rewarding. I have met the greatest people and just feel great about myself every day. I love my work and I am always ready for the next challenge presented to me. They are more than your clients they are more like part of your family.

Working for Home Helpers for the short time I have been there has been great. Over the years I have worked for agencies and Home Helpers is #1 on my list.

They are very respectful and upfront when it comes to providing information on an assignment. Home Helpers staff is very motivating and they do not pressure you and you guys have a great sense of humor. It makes me very confident in the work that I do. I get wonderful feedback and the clients I have met are great. I would recommend Home Helpers to my friends without a doubt.
