Benjamin Carson Sr. M.D. said, “One of the greatest truths of life is that you can’t do it all alone, you need help along the way.” When you need help, what kind of person are you looking for? I am sure it is someone selfless, caring, compassionate, hard working, reliable, dedicated, and one who wants to put your needs before their own. Those are the best traits a caregiver can have and they are the ones our Caregiver of the Month, Shell Gates possesses.
Shell is a pleasant and very hard worker who on a moment notice will dive in to provide care when needed. If it is a regular client or a protective service emergency start she says yes and goes. You can tell she is not in this business for the money. She truly cares about each of her clients and wants to do right by them. Shell has a heart dedicated for her job; she shows nothing but love and compassion in everything she does on and off her work hours. Shell is a nurturer by her nature, she cares and wants to help develop and grow with every person that she meets. The impact that she has on community is immeasurable. Shell is always pleasant, respectful and vigilant about any issues that need to be addressed to ensure the safety and care of her clients. She is very humble and never expects anything back. Shell has provided services for some of our more challenging cases and she never complains, but always tries her best. This is what one client has to say about her, “She always goes over and beyond. She is reliable, a good worker and we really like her.” You know by being around Shell that she always does the “ and then some” for her clients. . and that’s why we are so proud to announce her as our Caregiver Spotlight.
