We started our business years ago first by asking ourselves “why?” We had just gone through a life-changing caregiving situation with one of our loved ones and realized firsthand that making decisions regarding providing for the safety and care of someone we love and cherish can be overwhelming. How do you know what’s right for your family’s unique situation? Is in-home care the right solution? Or does your loved one need more? We had also seen during this time the many care options that were simply subpar and having worked as a nurse for the last quarter of a century that just bothered me enough to want to do something a little better. We wanted to do something that followed the rules of the Illinois Department of Health (IDPH), as well as the principals I have learned over the years providing care myself. Driven by a passion for providing quality care not just for the one being cared for but the family as well we started on our journey.
Many think their only option is assisted living. Not only can this be a costly solution but it also takes people out of the home they have built and lived in often for most of their lives where they are comfortable and familiar with their surroundings. We feel Home Helpers is the perfect opportunity for us to apply the skills we’ve developed over the past 25+ years to help our community members continue to live safely and independently in the comfort and security of their own home. With Home Helpers, we’re there when you need us!

Our Compassionate Caregivers
Our caregivers are the key to our success, so hiring quality people to join our team is a top priority. We also pride ourselves
Each caregiver is carefully selected and must satisfy our rigorous employment criteria which include:
• A comprehensive interview process
• Previous employment verification
• Reference checks
• Extensive criminal background check
• Motor vehicle driving record check
• Pre-employment drug-testing
All of our caregivers are eligible to legally work in the United States, speak English fluently and have their own car. Again, they are our employees, and we take full responsibility for their day-to-day supervision. At any time, if you have questions or concern about your loved one’s caregiver and/or care plan, we are more than happy to work with you to adjust the situation to fit your needs.
In Addition to working with you to find the best caregiver match, you will find that we work hard with you involved every step of the way to design a customized care plan that matches to your unique needs. We work with your family and take time to understand your unique situation from safety needs to budgeting.
FREE IN-HOME CONSULTATION
We meet with you at no obligation to get to know you and understand your family’s needs, answer your questions, and assess care needs.
FREE HOME SAFETY CHECK
Our free home environmental assessment identifies potential hazards and helps ensure the home is safe for your loved one to age in place.
We know it can be difficult to open your home to a stranger, so we match every client with the most compatible caregiver, and we personally introduce caregivers and clients. When your loved one is partnered with the right caregiver, they become members of an extended family that provides compassionate, attentive care and the best possible quality of life.
We work within your budget and partner with your long-term care insurance provider to ensure your family’s care services fit your financial requirements.
Our home care services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so you know your loved one’s needs are always being met. We offer care when and where it’s needed, whether it’s at home, in a retirement community or assisted-living or skilled nursing facility.
We also help those recovering from surgery or injury, coping with a long-term illness, or managing an ongoing medical condition such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, or ALS. Whatever your family’s needs, Home Helpers can provide the care that makes the difference.
