After Searching for Care for Her Own Mother, Entrepreneur Sara Kern Opens Home Helpers in Billings
Home Helpers of Billings, part of the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers, and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance, serves Billings and Yellowstone County.
Billings, Montana - When Sara Kern’s mom was only 46, she suffered a debilitating stroke
that left her partially disabled. A few years after her father passed
– at only 62 – Kern moved her mom in to live with her. That
experience left Kern thinking about the in-home care options in her community
and how she could be part of a better solution. Now Kern is pleased to
announce the launch of her new business, Home Helpers of Billings.
Home Helpers is the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive
home care for seniors, new mothers, and individuals needing recuperative
and continuing assistance. Home Helpers of Billings also offers Direct
Link, its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a
fall sensor with GPS locator and an automated medication dispenser. Home
Helpers of Billings serves Billings and Yellowstone County.
"When I realized my mom was going to need assistance at some point,
I started looking at the options. It was scary for me to think about who
I could trust to care for her and what her choices would be. Home Helpers
is a need in this community and I’m committing myself to being the
best. I want to have amazing caregivers because, if my mom needs help,
I want to able to call any one of them and feel comfortable sending them
her way. For me, this is about serving the community, including my own
family," Kern said.
Home Helpers specializes in helping families care for their loved ones
so they can focus on spending quality time together – not just being
full-time caregivers. Home Helpers’ full-range of home care services
empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy,
safety, and comfort of their own homes. Home Helpers of Billings offers
free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible,
affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services
offered include personal care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication
management, and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation,
laundry, light housekeeping, companionship, and transportation.
Kern grew up in Montana and has lived in Billings since 2003. She started
her career as a C.N.A. and, since then, has worked mostly in the service
industry. She’s looking forward to continuing to use her customer
service and people skills in Home Helpers.
"I think the most exciting thing about this business is that I’m
opening it for the right reasons. I want to know I’m providing the
best care for my own mother and I felt like bringing Home Helpers to Billings
and hiring some amazing caregivers would be the best way to do that. I
am passionate about providing the best care and an awesome customer service
experience – that’s what is going to set us apart in this
community," Kern said.
