Being active is intentional…you have to find things to do! Sure we may occasionally discover something fun for the family, but more often than not, we have to go out and look for family fun. This is especially true when you’re including seniors. They may want to go out and do all of the crazy stuff that the kids do, but the summer heat can be overwhelming at times. Here are a few things to do this summer that you can enjoy with your aging parents or grandparents!
The Treasure Valley is home to several farmers’ markets that offer some of the freshest fruits and vegetables around! If you have a caregiver in the home, they can help your parents or grandparents plan a recipe during the week and then the family can head out together to one of the many area markets to find the fresh ingredients! IdahoCalendar.com is a great resource for determining which market to hit and why! Check them out here.
Catch a Play!
Nothing says summer like a little Shakespeare! Enjoy a great show in the shade of their riverside amphitheater. There will likely be a performance that kids from 8 – 80 can enjoy. Get your seniors out for an evening of fun. More information on upcoming performances can be found here.
If it’s Summer Time, Then it’s Rodeo Season!
It’s not summer in the Treasure Valley until you’ve attended one of our world class rodeos! You can find excitement at large outdoor events like the Caldwell Night Rodeo or you can opt to stay out of the sun and enjoy the Snake River Stampede just to name a couple. There is no shortage of rodeo fun for the whole family.
Don’t just sit by all summer wondering what to do! Grab the ENTIRE family and find something that tickles your fancy…there’s bound to be something everyone can agree on...go find it!!
