An Early Mother’s Day Celebration in Lansdale, PA
All of our caregivers were invited to a special cupcake open house on Friday, in advance of Mother’s Day, when so many of our dedicated staff will be working with our clients! We value every opportunity to thank our care staff for their devotion to our clients, and today was a perfect example. Home Helpers’ Operations Team, led by our Director of Operations, Patti Soisson, created the event. Joining Patti in the picture below are several members of her Ops team, including Lindsay, Latiesha, Joy, Beth and Kathy. Thanks for all you do behind the scenes at Home Helpers to delight our clients and support our care staff!

An Early Mother’s Day Celebration
Home Helper’s nurses Eileen Edling and Deb Piccini visited several of our Live-in caregivers at Ann’s Choice Senior Living Community (https://www.ericksonseniorliving.com/anns-choice) in Warminster, PA to celebrate Mother’s Day early with them. We are so thankful for each of our caregivers, and especially acknowledge our live-in staff who give selflessly of their time (including holidays) to our live-in clients, who thrive with their assistance. Happy Mother’s Day!
Home Helpers’ owner, Frank Esterle, and his wife Donna, are seen below volunteering at the “Let’s Glow” Walk Fundraiser, benefitting the For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation, on Sunday May 1st at Citizens Bank Park, in Philadelphia. About 1,300 walkers were on site, including those currently undergoing cancer treatment, with their families, friends and caregivers! We were humbled by the experience, and are so grateful for the mission of this charity (https://takeabreakfromcancer.org/)
Frank Esterle, co-owner of Home Helpers and his wife, Donna, attend the March 5th 2022 Beach Ball Gala fundraising event for the cancer charity, For Pete’s Sake, where Donna works. The event, held in center city Philadelphia, was the first in-person gala since Covid-19 turned the country upside down, and was a huge success, with over 300 attendees.

Perhaps you would be interested in contributing generously with your time, talent and/or financial resources, so those suffering with cancer can experience a much-valued respite from their treatments to relax and bond with their families.
Every year, when considering thank you gifts for our valued referral partners in the community, we seek out a local vendor with a special cause. In 2021, exhausted by the restrictions and stress of COVID, Home Helpers owner walked across the back parking lot of our office in Lansdale, curious to learn about the new tenant, Shane and Pepper Candle Company (https://shaneandpeppercandleco.com/pages/our-story). Frank walked in and met Marie Popiny and her husband, Brett, and learned their story about their son, Shane, and his special dog, Pepper.
From their website: “Shane is a pediatric stroke survivor and has cerebral palsy, and Pepper is his mobility service dog. In 2016, we started a fundraiser by creating natural soy candles raising funding for Shane’s mobility service dog through a non-profit called 4 Paws for Ability.
Why candles, you ask? When Shane was a baby/toddler, he loved to watch the glow from a candle as it brought calmness within him if he was having a bad day. Shane wants to offer the same feeling within your home when you light his candles.” In 2020, that is when Shane and Pepper Candle Company came to rise! “
Home helpers quickly supported the mission and purchased 60 candles to spread the message of their cause to our valued referral sources throughout the community, who were delighted and inspired.
Below is a picture of Shane, Pepper, his younger sister and brother, along with his mom, Marie. This was taken during the filming of a story for a local new channel, Fox 29 in Philadelphia.

Shown below is Home Helpers’ inviting booth at the Health Care Career Fair hosted by Bucks County Community College on Monday, April 11th, 2022. Representing Home Helpers were Patti Soisson, our Director of Operations, and Lyndsay Lerch, in Human Resources. Home Helpers delights in the opportunity to offer students careers in caregiving, even if they are short-term while they are completing their studies in a related field. Over the years, we have employed hundreds of students of nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, social work and many more areas of study. What a great learning experience, and a chance for a glowing recommendation for their first fulltime professional job, and/or admission to graduate school.
Below is Patti engaged in discussions with a student regarding the rewarding positions available at Home Helpers.
