Respite Care is Crucial for Family and Home Caregivers

By Debbie Humphrey

It’s hard to believe another Thanksgiving has come and gone, and we are officially into the busiest shopping season of the year… and one of the most stressful.

As we bid farewell to November and Family Caregivers and Home Care Awareness Month, I want to recognize all of the compassionate caregivers who give their time, talents, and most importantly, their hearts, to lend a helping hand to a senior loved ones in need. It is certainly a gratifying experience to help someone, but I am keenly aware of how exhausting it can be, as well.

That’s why I want to offer an opportunity for respite care for family caregivers, as it is important to keep those batteries recharged and stress levels down so you can be the best you can be for the ones you love and who need you the most.

Professional caregivers are trained to provide a much-needed break for family caregivers without missing a beat in the care your loved one has received from you. I’m truly blessed to have a team comprised of compassionate caregivers who are talented beyond measure and incredibly experienced at helping seniors.

Family members have no need to worry and stress over the care of their senior loved ones, because our caregivers’ goals are the same: we want to keep your beloved family member aging at home happy, healthy and engaged. In so doing, this will prevent incidences of decline and depression that many home-bound seniors experience during the holidays, because they tend to feel more isolated and alone as everyone has their holiday fun and goes about their business as usual.

One thing I take great pride in is our ability to tailor our services to meet your loved one’s needs. If you could use some time off, but your loved one requires 24/7 care, we can help you by providing assistance to them in a variety of ways, with the same level of love and compassion as you! Some of the primary things our caregivers do include companion care, personal hygiene, meal preparation, transportation assistance, light housekeeping, and so much more.

If you are a family or private home caregiver to a special senior someone living alone, and you could benefit from respite care yourself, please consider hiring a professional caregiver during the holidays, or any time of year. I am happy to schedule a FREE consultation to discuss specific needs and concerns, and I can recommend the perfect caregiver to help!
