Wake-Up & Tuck-In Services Bring Isolated Seniors Joy and Comfort

I don’t know about you, but Grandparents Day came and went last week with only Zoom and phone calls, instead of the annual in-person hugs and kisses my beautiful Grands always gift me.

The year 2020 has proven to be quite a challenge for most of us in many different ways, but it’s my business and nature to be concerned about the impact this crazy year has had on seniors isolated from loved ones due to COVID-19.

Unfortunately, senior isolation is likely to continue as many children have returned to in-person classes, increasing their risk of contracting coronavirus. As I write this blog, the number of children who have tested positive for COVID-19 since returning to schools across Florida, has risen 26%, which translates to nearly 54,000 students, according to a CNN report.

This news is very disappointing, because it means our most vulnerable seniors who live alone in our communities will likely not receive visits from loved ones, as this pandemic continues.

With isolation comes depression, which is why I’m so grateful to have ways to help seniors feeling isolated begin and end their days with comfort and joy, thanks to our wake-up and tuck-in services. Considering summer has come to an end, days are getting shorter and nights are getting longer, this service may be just in time for you or your senior loved one!
