What Are Different Types of Caregivers?

In addition to the various home caregiving services offered by Home Helpers Home Care of Cleveland, TN, there are some more general types of caregivers often referred to in the in-home caregiving world.

Those four main types of caregivers are professional, family, volunteer, and peer caregivers. Licensed, insured and trained, professional caregivers provide services for a fee and can work in a variety of settings, such as home care agencies, nursing homes, hospitals, or private households. Family caregivers typically provide unpaid care for a loved one in need and may include spouses, siblings, children, parents and other blood relatives. Volunteer caregivers are those who donate their time to care for another without any form of compensation. Lastly, peer caregivers are people with similar experiences that offer emotional support to one another. They may or may not have had formal training in providing caregiving services but are able to empathize with those they help due to shared experiences.
