We continue our celebration ahead of Veteran’s Day tomorrow (11/9), co-sponsoring a free dinner for veterans at the Pleasant View Senior Center, in East Longmeadow (MA).

Home Helpers Home Care Community Care Coordinator, Katherine Mack, will be helping the Senior Center Staff to serve the dinner.

At the dinner, veterans could also receive good news, as the area in front of the East Longmeadow Senior Center is being considered to host a small plaza to memorialize the city's combat veterans. The East Longmeadow Veterans Memorial Committee had a meeting with the city manager this week, to discuss the building of the memorial with stones, flags, and benches for reflection.

This is an RSVP event. Those interested in attending should call until the day of the event (11/9), by 4 pm to reserve a spot.

It is the second year Home Helpers Home Care in East Longmeadow is helping to organize the Veteran's Day Event

“It makes me very happy to be part of this celebration in our community,” says Katherine. “These veterans have helped to keep our country safe during many different conflicts, from World War 2 to the Gulf War and it is important to show respect and appreciation for their service.”

Veteran's Senior Care East Longmeadow (MA)

Honoring veterans is an integral part of who we are, as a company, as we serve clients who need Disabled Senior Care, Alzheimer’s Care, Homemaker Services and Home Care in East Longmeadow, Longmeadow and all over Eastern Mass and North Central CT. Many of our clients are veterans too.

To help the veterans senior care in our area, we partner with VCC (Veteran Care Coordination). VCC verifies if senior veterans are eligible to receive in-home care benefits and takes care of the paperwork with the VA, making it easier to access the benefits. VCC then starts paying for the home care services of eligible veterans while the VA is still evaluating their file, so they don't have to wait to begin receiving the care they need.
