Since our first year in business, Home Helpers Home Care has been an exhibitor at the North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce Home Show. It is an event we hold dear because it offers a unique opportunity for us to engage with our community.
At the Home Show, we get to talk to current and past clients, caregivers and the businesses that make our region a thriving area for the manufacturing and services industries. We also get to interact with people to talk about the challenges of getting older, and how in-home care can help older people to live longer, healthier lives in their own homes.
You would be surprised by how many persons are going through the process of deciding how to provide care to a loved one. The home show offers us an opportunity to be approached by anyone who has questions and needs information about the cost of home care, the qualification of caregivers, and how much care they need, if any.
When it comes to home care, it is very useful to plan. We never know when we will need it and, sometimes, we don’t acknowledge we need it when we already do. Whatever is your story, it is good to talk to somebody who understands what caregivers go through. And the Home Show offers us a platform to do just that, for two days.
Finally, the show is a wonderful place for us to meet CNAs and PCAs interested in career options, in the home care and Alzheimer’s Care field.

The Home Show
For the people who will visit the Home Show, it offers a diverse set of local businesses from our region. The show is a place where you can see ideas for landscaping your backyard, get informed about healthy diets, check new tips to decorate your home, think about that long needed renovation, and much more. There are also raffle prizes.
The Home and Product Show started in 1973 and was adopted by the North Central CT Chamber in 1976. Over the years, the Chamber has proudly hosted the show, featuring local vendors and thousands of attendees each year. 2019 will be the 50th show, and the Chamber is also celebrating its 125th anniversary. Last year, more than 3.000 people visited the show.
Feel at home at Home Helpers Home Care booth!
Home Helpers designed its exhibition space as a home with a living room where you can sit in our comfortable couch, after strolling through the other businesses of the Home Show. There, you will be able to read our literature while you rest, watch videos about our services on the TV, and ask us all your questions about who we are, what we do, and how we offer the best in-home care in our region.
This setting is ideal for getting to know people in our community and discuss things that we can do together in the future. Last year, for example, we met a World War 2 veteran who is 98 years old, at the Home Show. He came by our booth to talk to us about his years of service and everything he did for our country. In that encounter, we had the idea of having him as a speaker in events with elderly veterans, to give them encouragement and support, in recognition of their service. That way, we also highlight our services offered to several elderly veterans in need of home care, in conjunction with the Veterans’ Administration.
Home Helpers offers services in all North Central CT and Western Massachusetts region, including Enfield, Suffield, Vernon, Tolland, Manchester, Somers, Ellington, Stafford, Longmeadow, and East Longmeadow. We would love to talk with people from all these places and beyond.
So, if you need home care, or if you are just curious about it, we look forward to seeing you next Saturday and Sunday at the North Central Chamber of Commerce Home Show, at the old Walmart building, at 69 Prospect Hill Rd. East Windsor, CT.
