2018 Caregiver of the First Quarter

2018 Caregiver of the first quarter - Minka

Minka found her calling when she started caregiving over a decade ago. She worked for 5 years as a private caregiver before Home Helpers was lucky enough to hire her 6 years ago as a live-in caregiver.

Minka says the key to her success is that she likes helping people and is patient with them. Michelle Pantoja, CNA, CDP, Senior Care Manager, thinks it’s more than that, “Minka is always smiling. You never see her without a smile on her face. She brings joy into every home she’s in. She’s so compassionate and loving with her clients.”

Her compassion is evident from the length of time that she has served her clients. She was with a client for over 4 years and has now been with another client for 2 years.

Minka has an impressive background. She moved to the United States from Bulgaria 12 years ago to be with her two sons who had already moved here. She is a single mom who learned English and was able to find caregiving work to support herself.

Outside of work, Minka faithfully attends church every Sunday. She also enjoys spending time with her family, including her 3 grandsons - aged 20, 10 and 8.

Minka says she feels very satisfied and blessed with her life and her ability to care for her clients. We at Home Helpers are certainly blessed to have her as one of our caregivers and we appreciate all she does!
