2016 Caregiver of the Quarter - Third Quarter

Caregiver of the Quarter Toni G.

Caregiving is more than a job for Toni. It’s a way of life.

“This is how I live. When I have the chance, I help,” said Toni, Home Helpers of Hinsdale’s Caregiver of the Quarter.

Toni joined Home Helpers nearly 6 years ago after spending time volunteering at a hospital. She continues to volunteer, spending even her days off helping others.

“Toni is so gentle and kind,” said Michelle Pantoja, CNA, CDP, care manager, and Toni’s supervisor. She said Toni cares for clients the way she would care for her own loved ones. And if another caregiver is in a bind, Toni is always willing to step in and help fill a need.

Toni said working for Home Helpers means she is always becoming an even better caregiver. Ongoing training equips her with new and better information that she can use to care for her clients – something she plans to do for many years to come. For Toni, work is more than a paycheck.

“Every day when I visit my client, I add more value to his life,” she said.

When she’s not working or volunteering, Toni enjoys dressmaking, going to church and spending time with her family, including her four children.

Learn how you, like Toni, can make a difference in someone’s life by joining the Home Helpers team of caregivers.
