Home Helpers® Makes Independent Living Easy for Seniors

I recently published a social media post welcoming a new Home Helpers® franchise to the East Peoria, Illinois area, because I am proud to be Mom and Mother-in-law to the owners, Jillian, and Josh!

The point of my prideful post was to introduce residents in and around East Peoria to a reputable, local in-home care agency under the Home Helpers®’ corporate umbrella. Since my daughter Jillian has her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and has worked with me at Home Helpers® Bourbonnais for 10 years as a caregiver and manager of almost every position in the office, including training, scheduling, client assessments, and employee hiring, I know she will do an amazing job running her own franchise!

In addition, her husband Josh has been involved with Home Helpers® for at least 5 years and understands the process very well, so I know he and Jillian will make a formidable team providing seniors and those with disabilities, illness, or recovering from injury or surgery with the high-quality care they deserve to stay independent in their own homes for as long as possible.

Senior independence is one reason why we do what we do at Home Helpers®. Seniors value their independence more than just about anything. In fact, I know seniors who are adamant about never going to assisted living or a skilled nursing facility under any circumstances because they feel like their lives will essentially be over if that happens.

In one case, in particular, I know a family who did everything they could to keep their Mom/Grandma with dementia at her home – and even at their own homes – in an effort to honor her wish to never be admitted to a nursing home. However, the care she required as the dementia progressed left them no choice. She was in danger of hurting herself or being hurt in her deteriorating demented mental state, so there was nothing left for them to do.

In situations like this, family members may be too close to their senior loved one to clearly see the physical and mental changes that can alter the trajectory of their beloved senior’s life. They may try to do too much for the person, stripping them of their autonomy, or they may struggle not knowing what to do as things spiral out of control, like the family of the Mom/Grandma with dementia.

Home Helpers®’ compassionate, professional caregivers are skillfully trained to know what to do and how to properly care for and assist seniors in a variety of circumstances so they can stay independent at home. From being certified in Alzheimer’s and dementia care to doing basic wellness calls, the caregivers I employ are your family when family can’t be there to deliver exceptional in-home care services to you or your senior loved one 24/7/365.

Home Helpers® makes independent living easier for seniors, and I’m happy to offer a FREE Assessment to discuss specific needs. I will review the in-home care services we provide so I can prepare a custom-tailored care plan that is laser-focused to assist them with activities of daily living, improve their overall quality of life, and preserve their senior independence.

I wish Jillian and Josh the very best for their Home Helpers® East Peoria franchise, and I know they will more than meet and exceed their goals of Making Life Easier for seniors and those with disabilities, illness, or recovering from injury or surgery in their area!
