Our very own Director receives the Social Work of the year award!

Senior's Fair & Mayor's Picnic. Home Helpers employees had a great day at the mayor's picnic meeting new people and providing education on senior services. Patti Jo comes from a wealth of experience as a director of assisted living facilities.

Marshall our Licensed social worker started as an Intern from UTK and came to work full-time following his masters program.

Lynne is our Director of Nursing and coming from a background of Senior Services at Convenant Hospital.

On Site Employee CEU Training

This week we are doing on-site training with our employees to better support our clients with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. While a lot of fun working with our employees this will help us better serve our clients needs.

We also conducted training on properly using Hoyer Lifts and Gait belts to better protect both our clients and employees.

The Carter Senior Center just make the trek to Las Vegas with many of their seniors participaing in the Health Event. Included is a picture with Pam Holt, our Las Vegas winner.

Home Helpers partners with the Arthritis Foundation on early registration for the Jingle Bell Run/Walk. Jeff Jarnigan of B97.5 will be doing his live broadcast at the Home Helpers office from 4 to 7 on July 18th. The address is Cherokee Mills, 2240 Sutherland Ave, Knoxville, Tn. 37919. Look for the tent in the courtyard. There will be snacks and give-a-ways so please stop by and support the Arthritis Foundation.

Home Helpers Aid wins Alzheimer's Tennessee Caring Hearts award. The Caring Hearts award was presented at the luncheon by Mary Lyn Goodman, Board President and Senator, Becky Duncan-Massey.

Home Helpers participated in the Alzheimer's Tennessee walk on Saturday as a Presenting Sponsor. The Home Helpers team had a blast. Led by the team captain, they beat their fund rasing goal and came in second with the best dressed mascot!

Three sisters that are competing in our Home Helpers "Carter Seniors Are Going Places" competition! Thank you for the wonderful T-shirts! Everyone is really staying motivated (these three are coming in twice a day!!) and looking forward to a fun field trip to the James White Fort.

The first person to reach Key West with the Going Places program! He was presented with a gift certificate to Bayou Bay Seafood House. Williamsburg VA is the next stop and a trip to the James White Fort in Knoxville planned for spring break! This is a program developed by the senior center to promote healty lifestyles. We're excited to be part of it.

Home Helpers becomes major sponsor with Alzheimer's Tennessee... and we back Pat! Our Home Helpers Team is planning to participate in the upcoming "Walk."

O'Connor Senior Center Christmas Choir. As the holidays get close, we enjoyed our morning supporting spending time with our friends and supporting the Christmas program.

Home Helpers joins in the Veteran's Day Parade on a picture perfect day. Home Helpers of East TN proudly honored all veterans by participating in the parade and showing the American spirit through the beautiful Chevrolet convertible that carried retired military personnel and a military wife.

Bettie Wilkie our Licensed Master Social Worker and Community Events Director teams up with the Tennessee Theater and VA to support a Veterans day event during the Mighty Musical Monday at the Tennessee Theater.
