"Dave Schmidt came into my office and said he was from Home Helpers of the Lake Country. I really didn’t know much about Home Helpers until Dave said they come into the home and help care for a loved one while the caregiver is away from the home. My husband has had Parkinson’s for 26 years and while I work part-time, I was uneasy leaving him alone. We had tried adult daycare but after one day of that, we both agreed never to go back. There’s something to be said about the comfort of your own home. Dave and Lisa were a Godsend. They both came to our home to meet with us and talk about the care they offer. We soon realized that they themselves were very caring people. I told them the hours I work and some days needed extra hours for running errands. They’re very accommodating to our needs. We’re so pleased with the people they send. They play a variety of games with Bob, go on some walks or just sit and talk. It’s peace of mind for me knowing Bob is well-taken care when I’m not there.
