Home Helpers of Wayland – Caregiver of the Month Spotlight

This month we are profiling Ken Taylor, one of Home Helpers’ veteran Caregivers. Ken has provided care for Home Helpers for over six years.

A certified HHA, Ken is from Ghana, West Africa and moved to the United States over 15 years ago. Ken attended Acton Technical in the London, and had a successful career as a builder in Ghana while maintaining a large livestock farm with chicken, sheep and goats.

Before moving to the U.S., Ken always made time to help the seniors in his village, particularly his grandparents’ friends that needed help with cooking or other daily activities, and checking in often if they were ill. “Seniors have always had a special place in my heart; working and helping them is so natural to me,” Ken explained.

Ken treats each client like precious gold and in doing that, helps them to thrive. “Working with clients, is always personal to me. I like to feel connected – make a personal connection. It feels good to know they are happy to see me; the light in their eyes brings me joy.” Ken continued, “Most of all, I just do the very best I can to help them.”
