Owner Biographies

John A. DeSanti, President and Owner

Born and raised in New Castle, John attended St. Vitus grade school and graduated from New Castle High School. He is a graduate of Penn State University with dual degrees, including a B.S. Degree in Health Administration and B.S. Degree in Nursing.  He is also a graduate of the Jameson Hospital School of Nursing. 

John’s career work includes ten years of hospital human resources management and over 20 years as a registered nurse, working in the disciplines of home care and critical care.

After years of living in Chicago, and other areas of Pennsylvania, John returned to New Castle in 1999 to be closer to family and to continue his nursing career.

In 2009, John became President of the New Castle, PA office of Home Helpers establishing the business with the help of Amy, from a home office.

Amy J. (Bertucci) DeSanti, Vice-president and Owner

Also born and raised in New Castle, Amy is a graduate of New Castle High School. She attended St. Mary’s College and received a degree in Psychology.  Additionally, Amy earned a Masters Degree in Education from Duquesne University and received her nursing diploma from the Jameson Hospital School of Nursing.

As a Certified Diabetes Educator, Amy has enjoyed a successful career in nursing, specializing in diabetes management, diabetes research and insulin pump education for patients and physicians.

A founding partner of the New Castle office of Home Helpers, Amy joined the management team on a full-time basis in 2016.

  

John and Amy met in 2002, were married in 2005 and are proud parents to four children: Nicholas, Jack, Michael and Madelyn.
