Bill and Tammy Spearson, Owners

Home Helpers and Direct Link of Northwest Indiana is locally owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Bill Spearson and Tammy Spearson.

Bill has over 25 years of management experience and Tammy has 21 years of legal experience. The strongest qualification, however, that we bring to our Home Helpers business is our experience within our own family. Tammy’s mother lost her battle to cancer after eleven years, while Bill and Tammy took time off work, used vacation time, and sacrificed all personal time to take care of her. At the same time, Tammy’s father was diagnosed with lung cancer and had to undergo surgery. After his surgery and the passing of Tammy’s mother, Bill and Tammy became the primary caregivers of Tammy’s grandmother who fell, which resulted in her not being able to live in her home alone any longer. Anyone who knows what it is like to watch a loved one leave their home and lose their independence knows it is a very difficult experience. Tammy has since become a Certified Senior Advisor as well as a hospice volunteer for the Hospice of the Calumet area to give back to the community that once helped both of us through a difficult and life-altering experience.

These life experiences as well as seeing other loved ones and friends living with and through similar situations is what lead us to start our own business helping others. This is not our “job or just our business,” it is our life and our passion.
