Rob Christie- Owner

                 Rob Christie-Owner

When Rob Christie’s father became ill he learned first-hand the need to address the overwhelming challenges we all face when a loved one needs assistance. As a result of those experiences and a desire to make a difference in the life of others, he opened Home Helpers of the Mid-Ohio Valley in 2006. "Our service is designed to make life easier  for our clients as well as their Families." He said, "Then our clients and their families can have peace of mind and concentrate on their life and relationships."

Rob Left his corporate job in 1994 to fulfill his dream of business ownership. As with Home Helpers he saw a need in his community and opened a Merry Maids house cleaning service in Shreveport, La. Today he is proud as his youngest daughter, who was only nine months old when the business opened, is managing that same Merry Maids business. Rob said, "Our Home Helpers clients often need assistance with house cleaning and I am able to use my experience from Merry Maids to make sure that we meet and exceed client expectations on that front.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Rob is very interested in helping our vets. "We are a provider for a little known veteran’s benefit called "Aid and Attendance". Qualifying veterans, their spouse or surviving spouse can receive our service at little or no cost." Rob continues on to say, "It’s all about making a difference and helping others."

Amanda Christie- Director of Operations

Amanda Christie is a lifelong resident of West Virginia. Her passion has always been to help others, especially our senior citizens. As a child she spent many hours visiting residents at a nursing home where her mother was employed as an aid. Later Amanda was employed at a chiropractic clinic and showed great empathy for the patients. Her assistance was invaluable as she made certain each patient was well cared for and comfortable.

Still Amanda was looking for a more direct contact with people. She says," I always want to feel like I help the people I meet". That desire Brought her to Home Helpers in 2008. "Amanda’s selflessness and conscientious attention to her clients made her stand out among our caregivers. Amanda is always willing to help", said owner Rob Christie.

TO further her career, Amanda took a two year leave to attend Washington State Community College where she earned a degree in Applied Science in Social Services. After which, Home Helpers was very fortunate to have Amanda return as Director of operations. Her education and experience has given her a greater insight into understanding and helping our clients. It is a great advantage to have her on our staff.

Kyle Weiford- Staffing Coordinator

Kyle began his professional career as an Assistant Manager at Odyssey Theatre in Marietta, OH. He spent a total of three years at Odyssey while attending WVUP for Business Administration. After which time he started at Westbrook Health Services. After moving through the ranks at Westbrook he entered the job as a Scheduler for their Residential Division. After three years at Westbrook he joined the Home Helpers team in October of 2015 as a Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator. Along with his responsibilities as our Staffing and Scheduling Coordinator, Kyle also acts as our Webmaster and is in charge of all analytical data.

Kyle found his niche in this field when he started at Westbrook and has brought the same attitude over to the Home Helpers team. “I fell in love with having the ability to help those who may not be able to help themselves.” He said, “There is no greater reward than at the end of the day being able to look back and know that your efforts have truly helped improve somebody’s life.”

Debbie Parsons- Care Coordinator

Debbie is our Care Coordinator located in our Jackson County office. She is in charge of all of our hiring and scheduling along with helping to maintain our ongoing growth in the Jackson County area. In 2013 Deborah decided to take the next step in her professional career and joined the Home Helpers team. Since that time Debbie has handled the day to day activities of our Jackson county site all while still being able to do her greatest passion, care giving.

“The joy that I get from being a caregiver is the most rewarding part of my job.” She went on to say, “My clients over the years have become an extension of my own family and I am so blessed to be able to provide for them the way that I do.” Rob Christie- owner had this to say about Debbie, “Through her assistance and perseverance to help manage the Jackson County area we have been able as a company to focus more on what is truly important to Home Helpers, compassionate care giving. Without Debbie’s dedication Home Helpers would not be where we are today.”
