Kenneth and Dr. Catherine Onuoha are the proud owners of Home Helpers of Polk County, and Direct Link, a company that provides; in-home health care, respite care, Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS) and Medication Monitoring and Reminder (MMR) services. Combined, they have over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, not only in administrative roles, but also as care providers.
Kenneth and Dr. Catherine treat every client like an extension of their own family. They take the time to get to know each client, root-cause of their concerns. while seeing those concerns as opportunities to help make a tangible difference in their patients lives and to help them achieve optimal health. They will continue to build on that tradition with respect and integrity. as they now do in Natural Medicine Center of Lakeland. Their clients will be carefully matched with the most compatible caregiver. The caregivers are well-trained and supervised. Kenneth and Dr. Catherine are always available as a reference to their clients and caregivers. They are truly compassionate in helping others and they try to provide an environment that allows their clients to live the best quality of life possible. Dr. Catherine Onuoha
PhD, RPh, BCPP, CPh
Dr. Catherine Onuoha, PhD, RPh BCPP, CPh, vested over 17 years’ in academia in professorial capacity in various traditional graduate and post-graduate institutions. Dr. Onuoha pursued advanced neuroscience training at the Walter Reed Army Institute for Research (WRAIR). Dr. Catherine earned her PhD. in clinical psychiatry at Virginia Medical College and consultant pharmacist degree at Nova Southern University. Dr. Catherine is also well-versed in areas of neuroscience, pharmacology, functional and complementary medicine. In addition, she has vast experience in hospital rotations and protocols. Dr. Onuoha currently owns Natural Medicine Center of Lakeland, MyLife Preventive Imaging Center and Home Helpers and Direct Link of Polk County. Dr. Catherine is well rooted in the county, in caring and educating the community we serve in areas of traditional, functional and integrative medicine, especially in preventive and recuperative processes.

Kenneth Onuoha previously attended Union University in pursuit of a Masters-degree program in social work and BS degree in nursing, before moving to Florida for family reason. Kenneth has extensive clinical experience as a nurse in various independent living, long-term care and hospice care facilities, The strong desire to help make a difference in people’s life compelled Mr. Kenneth to excel in a rigorous nursing program. His caring and empathetic nature are what led him to a career in nursing.and his believe in healing the client from a root- cause analysis perspective, After graduating from nursing school, Kenneth joined Natural Medicine Center of Lakeland, in the role of Patient Care Coordinator and Operations Director. Kenneth is also a professional Certified Clinical Thermographer (CT).
On a personal level, he was the lead caregiver for his father who passed away a few years ago. Currently Mr. Onuoha cares for his aging mother who has in recent time underwent two knee replacement surgeries and battling chronic hypertension. Kenneth therefore has a unique insight on his client’s and client family’s needs and situations.
