Owner Biography

I’m Chris Chin the local owner and operator of Home Helpers and Direct Link of Santa Clara, and I opened this business because I’ve always had a passion for helping people. From helping my grandparents around the house to volunteering with hospice and mentally-challenged seniors to being a part-time caregiver to working as a deputy district attorney, I’ve dedicated my time to making sure our seniors can live their lives to the fullest. Now I’m looking forward to helping you and your loved ones do the same.

At Home Helpers, we offer free in-home consultations and work with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on your needs. We offer personal care such as grooming, bathing, ambulation, medication management and care management as well as respite care, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, companionship and transportation. We also want to be your first-stop community resource, so if there’s something you need that we can’t help you with, we’ll be more than happy to refer you to a trusted partner.

Before opening this business, I served as a deputy district attorney for Alameda County, where I fought daily for the rights of victims, children and the elderly. Before earning my law degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, I graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and spent two years teaching middle school in New York City while earning a master’s degree in Teaching.

When I was young, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. We’d go to the park, read the newspaper together, discuss politics and, while I was at their home, I would help clean-up, help them cook, spend time together and talk to them about life. As a teenager, I volunteered to read and spend time with mentally-challenged seniors. Then, during my time in New York, I was a roommate and part-time caregiver for an older Hungarian woman with dementia. I’m married with three young children; I’m an active volunteer with two hospice agencies and I’m a leader at Grace Church of the Bay Area since its founding in 2011.

Home Helpers is an extension of a passion I’ve had throughout my life. It allows me to do what I have always loved to do in a fun and wonderful way.  My goal is that our family and our caregivers become an extension of our client’s family in a way that will help people live their lives to the fullest. With over 20 years of combined experience we are your #1 home care experts.  We are available 24/7. Call us today and let’s talk about how my team and I can help you.
