Fort Lee

The Jack Alter Fort Lee Community Center offers seasonal programs for Fort Lee residents, many of which are free.  These include, but are not limited to, Latin Zumba Aerobics, Tai Chi, Ballroom Dance, Pilates, Yoga, Stretch and Tone, English Conversation, Line Dancing, and Open Toddler gym time. The Richard & Catherine Nest Adult Activity Center offers social, educational, and recreational programs to Fort Lee residents age 55 and older. Some of the activities include dinner theater trips and monthly luncheons. Jitney transportation is available free of charge to Fort Lee residents 55 and over on designated routes that will include a stop at the Nest Center.

MONDAY MOVIE: Sherlock Gnomes, July 02, 2018

When Gnomeo and Juliet first arrive in the city with their friends and family, their biggest concern is getting their new garden ready for spring. However, they soon discover that someone is kidnapping garden gnomes all over London. When Gnomeo and Juliet return home to find that everyone in their garden is missing there’s only one gnome to call SHERLOCK GNOMES. The famous detective and sworn protector of London’s garden gnomes arrives with his sidekick Watson to investigate the case. The mystery will lead our gnomes on a rollicking adventure where they will meet all new ornaments and explore an undiscovered side of the city.

MONDAY MOVIE: Paddington 2, July 09, 2018

Paddington is happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, where he has become a popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop, and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief.

Peter Rabbit and his three sisters -- Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail -- enjoy spending their days in Mr. McGregor’s vegetable garden. When one of McGregor’s relatives suddenly moves in, he’s less than thrilled to discover a family of rabbits in his new home. A battle of wills soon breaks out as the new owner hatches scheme after scheme to get rid of Peter -- a resourceful rabbit who proves to be a worthy and wily opponent.

MOVIES ON THE BIG SCREEN: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, July 26, 2018

Four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game’s jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose. What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji - you must survive it. To beat the game and return to the real world, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, and change the way they think about themselves - or they’ll be stuck in the game forever.

Kaplen JCC on the Palisades 

Geared towards those 75 years and older, this senior club enables those who would otherwise be homebound, to get out, meet new people and enjoy themselves in the company of peers. The Senior Activity Center meets each weekday, Monday-Friday, for a full day of programs. Under the supervision of a highly qualified and professional staff, SAC features a wide range of programs and activities.

Joseph Cipolla Senior Activity Center

Looking for an afternoon out of the house! Come join us on the first and third Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm for some socializing, a cup of coffee and dessert. We meet at the Joseph Cipolla Senior Activity Center, located at 93 North Farview Avenue, in Paramus. We are a social gathering club for all seniors residing in Paramus. The club provides you with access to good fellowship, entertainment, trips and the latest senior updates from around Bergen County, as well as, professional speakers.
