Caregiver Profile: Ame Langham, Home Helpers North Central Texas

By Bob & Aimee Hartwiger

There’s a legacy of Exceptional Care at Home Helpers of North Central Texas. For the fourth consecutive year, this office out of Corsicana has placed a regional winner in the Exceptional Caregiver Awards.

Although Ame Langham has the title of Training Supervisor, in real life she does so much more. Yes, she’s a coach and mentor to the other Caregivers in the office, but she is also a valuable resource who’s just a phone call away if another Caregiver has a question or challenge with which they need help.

In addition, Ame takes it upon herself to make sure she’s familiar with every client and their specific needs. How? She keeps up with any changes by regularly taking a shift with each client to see for herself how they’re doing. Ame then discusses these observations with the regular Caregivers to make sure any needed changes are implemented.

A professional Caregiver for 30 years, Ame brings everything you would want – experience, patience, passion for the work and compassion for her clients – in a Caregiver. With a role model and example like Ame, it’s no wonder that Home Helpers of North Central Texas has such an exceptional legacy.

“To put it simply, Ame is a Caregiver to all of our clients and she is our Caregivers Caregiver,” said office owner Mark Thommarson. “If a client or Caregiver is sick or hospitalized, Ame checks in with them on behalf of the office to let them know that we’re all thinking of them.”

Ame has passed the lessons she’s learned through her training programs and through the office’s “Caregiver of the Month” program, which recognizes a Caregiver who has performed an outstanding service or special show of compassion. It keeps the focus of providing Exceptional Care and doing what’s best for the client front and center for all of her Caregivers at all times.

It’s reassuring to know that the heritage of Exceptional Care at Home Helpers of North Central Texas will be continuing for a long time to come. Congratulation, Ame, for setting the tone and on being a regional winner!
