Post-Operative Home Care Services

Post-Operative Care is Key to a Successful Recovery

Any time that surgery of any kind is performed, there’s usually a period of recovery that includes lots of rest and a routine that will help return to your normal daily activities as soon as possible.

Depending on the extent of the surgery, most patients will need help for days following the surgery. Also, most will need ongoing assistance until they have fully recovered and can resume all normal activities without assistance. That’s where Home Helpers can be of help.

After surgery, there are many details to manage. It is important that the patient is comfortable, surgical dressings are clean, medication is taken at the right time, and a patient’s immediate needs have been cared for properly. Depending on the surgery, the doctor will provide the patient with orders that will need to be followed. These orders may contain information on when and how the patient will get up and move around to maintain the body’s normal functions.

Call (800) 990-9750 and schedule your free In-Home Care Assessment today. Find the right Caregiver for your loved one.

To help the patient have the easiest possible recovery, a certified nursing assistant or a home health care aide will be assigned to the patient. Only the physician can help you decide whether or not extended care is needed around the clock. One of the benefits of having a home caregiver is ensuring that the patient is comfortable, safe, and as pain-free as possible while in our care. Having the post-surgery support is key to reducing recovery time and helping the patient return to normal life quickly. Post-surgery support is the best way to ensure that your recovery time is quick and the healthiest option available.

What to Expect from Post-Surgery Care

When you come home from the hospital, you might experience some fatigue and general tiredness. You may also notice that you might be feeling pain and might be very fatigued. This is very common and should not alarm you. It is simply your body’s way of kicking into its God-given healing mode, which helps you to rest. All your energy can then be saved for healing and recovery. It is very important that when you come home from the hospital, you and your family are aware of the extra help you might need.

If you come from a big family, you already know that well-meaning relatives want to help, but busy schedules often make that difficult. Most loved ones would rather spend their time hanging out with you, rather than overseeing your health needs. This is the perfect time to bring in a qualified home health worker who can free family up to just be a support system.
