Local Expos Promote Health and Fitness for Senior Women

Seems like much of what we hear in the news today revolves around women. Women have actively raised awareness regarding equality in pay, sexual harassment and abuse (both, personally and professionally);  and our constant evolution as powerful leaders in our communities and our government.

I am proud to be a strong woman of character. My husband and I raised three amazing children – a son and two daughters - which required I carefully manage a busy household; and I started my own non-medical, in-home care-giving business for seniors and Veterans.

My children are grown and married with children of their own,  and my business is thriving! The one thing that I continue to strive toward on a daily basis is my own health and fitness, in light of the fact so many of my clients are senior women who are not healthy or fit.

Wednesday, September 25, is the annual Women’s Health and Fitness day, and there are several  events coming-up where senior women can learn more about staying healthy and fit.

The Tampa Bay Times is hosting a Tampa Bay Women’s Expo at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 US 301, Tampa, Saturday, September 28, from 10:00am-4:00pm. Admission is free, although there is an event parking fee. Women of all ages can meet area business vendors and attend seminars and classes about health, fitness, yoga, diet, nutrition, finances, and so much more! Plus, what woman doesn’t enjoy a fashion show featuring the current trends?

A few weeks after the Women’s Expo, the Tampa Bay Senior’s Expo , also presented by the Tampa Bay Times, will provide valuable information and resources to “thousands of Bay area residents (who) are embarking on an exciting new phase of their life! Men and women fifty and older…looking for information on everything from retirement benefits to recreational opportunities, health concerns to housing options” can find it at these area events.

Seniors have FREE admission and parking at the Pasco Senior’s Expo to be held Thursday, October 10 at Gulf View Square Mall, 9409 US Hwy 19, in Port Richey, from 10:00am-3:00pm.

In Pinellas County, the St Petersburg Senior’s Expo will be held October 22 at 535 4th Avenue N, St Pete, from 10:00am-3:00pm, also with FREE admission and parking.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, both locations offer opportunities for seniors to:

  • Learn about health, recreation, fitness and more
  • Participate in FREE health screenings
  • Learn how to make wise investments
  • Discover great travel opportunities
  • Explore appropriate retirement options
  • Visit educational seminars
  • Win great door prizes
