Home Helpers® is Making Life Easier™ to Support Senior Independence

America’s Independence Day is upon us, and at this time of year, I like to reflect on all of the ways Home Helpers® is Making Life Easier in support of senior independence in the Clearwater area.

Senior independence is the primary goal sought by the majority of aging adults, but it can look different for each senior. Physical, mental, and emotional limitations can hinder someone’s ability to live independently. In these situations, a compassionate caregiver can make all the difference to seniors striving to remain independent in their homes.

For example, I have caregivers who are highly trained and certified in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. In the early stages of these diseases, clients may be fine living alone and can manage basic tasks without assistance. As demented behaviors progress, clients will likely require 24-hour in-home care and monitoring, or they may need to move to a facility with skilled nursing care or hospice services.

Other specialized care services we offer at Home Helpers® include recuperative care, which may entail support for stroke recovery, or post-operative care.

Caregivers provide companion care to keep seniors company when they live alone, keep them engaged in meaningful conversation, and keep them socially active, as much as possible.

Caregivers also manage homemaker services like laundry, light housework, grocery shopping, and nutritional meal planning and preparation, which may be too difficult for seniors to manage alone, especially if they suffer from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

In-home care may also be an answer to transportation woes when age, illness, or disability leads to “driving retirement.” Seniors can remain independent and do not have to forego running personal errands or worry about missing important doctor appointments due to transportation constraints. Caregivers will happily provide seniors with transportation assistance promptly and safely each and every time.

Wellness calls by Home Helpers® ensure seniors are doing well. Caregivers make sure they are eating, exercising, staying hydrated, and taking their medications properly. Wellness calls may include:

  • Morning & Evening Check-in Calls
  • Meal Reminders
  • Hydration Reminders
  • Exercise Reminders
  • Medication Reminders
  • Companionship with Engagement and Conversation

Last, but certainly not least, Home Helpers® provides respite carefor family caregivers, so they can take the time they need for self-care to maintain their own physical and mental wellness.

A perfectly matched Home Helpers® caregiver can assist with all of these things and more to keep you or your special senior happy, healthy, safe, and independent. If any of these services would be of benefit, I gladly offer a FREE Consultation to discuss specific needs and create a personalized care plan to help make life easier in support of senior independence in the Clearwater area.
