Transcript:

What are the types of long-term care?

There are two types: 1) Home-based long-term care services and 2) Community-based long-term care services.

When we talk about home-based long-term care services, we're referring to: a) skilled home health, for example, skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and then b) the non-medical services, such as the personal care services, and homemaker companion care services.

When we talk about community-based long-term care services, we are referring to supervised independent living, CCRCs, and CCRC is an acronym for continuing care retirement community.

At CCRCs, the idea is that an individual can stay in that community, and move within the levels of care at that community. The levels of care include independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.

Also included in community-based long-term care services are assisted living, memory care support, and skilled nursing facilities.

Thank you for watching this video. Make sure you watch the next video as we continue this discussion about long-term care insurance policies.
