What’s better than a week full of events and activities just for seniors? How about a whole month!
Aging Care Connections and its sponsoring partners have planned a full month’s worth of programming in recognition of Older Americans Month, also known as Aging Well Month.
Thirty-seven free events are planned throughout May to inform, entertain and enlighten all who attend. From estate planning and Medicare advice to options for staying healthy and active, there’s something for everyone on the calendar.
Highlights include the Senior Fair, set for 10 a.m. to noon May 11 at the North Riverside recreation center, 2401 DesPlaines. Vendors will showcase products and services designed to enhance the lives of seniors.
The Senior Fair features a free hot dog lunch at 11:30 a.m.
The festivities come to an entertaining climax on Friday, May 26, with a senior talent show!
All seniors are invited to showcase their talents at Plymouth Place, 315 N. La Grange Road, LaGrange Park, at 3 p.m. Friday, May 26. Musicians, comedians, dancers, magicians and more are welcome to perform.
Call Rita Lopienski at (708) 482-6805 to reserve your spot on stage, or mark your calendar to be part of the audience.
Home Helpers Home Care of Hinsdale will contribute to Aging Well Month by giving away meals from Kate’s Comfort Food at each of the month’s 37 events. One attendee at each event will win three free meals, delivered to their door.
