Oakbrook Center Holiday Market features the work of local artisans and one-of-a-kind food vendors from noon to 9 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Oakbrook Center, Rt. 83 and 22nd Street, Oak Brook.

Heather Hug Art Exhibition. The work of Riverside resident Heather Hug is on display at the Riverside Public Library, 1 Burling Road, from 9 a.m. daily. FREE.

Illumination: Tree Lights at the Morton Arboretum, 4100 Route 53, Lisle, begins at 4:30 p.m. daily through January 1.  Multi-colored LED lights, mesmerizing projections, and trees that respond to touch and sound, are part of this annual display.  $12-$30. The Unique Art of Diane Ruzevich is on display at the Riverside Public Library, 1 Burling Road, throughout the month of December. Ruzevich uses high voltage electricity to burn Lichtenberg figures into wood. FREE.

Artist Diane Ruzevich will demonstrate her unique wood-burning technique at 7 p.m. at the Riverside Public Library, 1 Burling Road. Ruzevich, whose work will be displayed at the library throughout December, uses high voltage electricity to burn Lichtenberg figures into wood. FREE.
