Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefit

What is the Pension with Aid and Attendance Benefit?

The Aid and Attendance benefit allows qualifying Veterans and surviving spouses the ability to receive monetary benefits to help with the regular need of another person to assist with the activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing, dressing, medication, or taking care of the needs of nature.

The Benefit also includes individuals who are blind or a patient in a nursing home because of mental or physical incapacity. Assisted care in an assisted living facility may also qualify.
