Effective monitoring services and medical alert systems provide a safe and secure solution to the obstacles elders may face when wishing to live independently. Home Helpers® Home Care is here to help guide you through the options and reassure you that you and your loved one's needs are met. We offer a variety of options that can fit the needs of all our clients. Direct Link® is an emergency response system that we are proud to offer our clients.
What is Direct Link®?
Direct Link® is anywhere there are elder care services. Direct Link® is not only available with you wherever you go and in your home, but also in assisted living, independent living, or continuing care communities. Direct Link® is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Providing Peace of Mind
As part of our robust senior home care services, Home Helpers® offers the Direct Link® Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) that enables you to feel safer and live more independently in the comfort of your own home.
When it comes to in-home care and monitoring, you may feel the options are either too limited or endless. We’re here to guide you through your monitoring and care options so you can be confident that you’re making the best decisions for your family’s unique needs.
When Should I Consider Direct Link as Part of My In-Home Care?
It’s a fact that one-third of all individuals over the age of 65 will fall each year. You and your loved one benefit from the peace of mind that a PERS will provide. Seniors who have a PERS can stay in their home an average of six years longer, and research shows getting help within four hours of a fall can dramatically reduce the severity and effects.
- A PERS should be considered part of your in-home care services if your loved one:
- Is alone several hours a day
- Has fallen in the past year
- Has visited the emergency room in the past year
- Has a chronic ailment – heart disease, COPD, etc.
- Uses a cane, walker, or another device to help with balance and walking
- Requires assistance with daily living activities
