Rashmi Khatri, LCSW, offers therapy and counseling for depression and anxiety with over 5 years of experience. Her office is conveniently located on South Drive, on the El Camino Hospital Campus, in Mountain View, Ca. Her clientele is mainly older adults.
New clients participate in an intake evaluation to identify possible causes behind their current mental and/or emotional state. Rashmi believes significant life events, either consciously or subconsciously, can shape a view of our life and circumstances. Her therapy techniques help to give meaning and understanding to life’s experiences, giving her clients the opportunity to benefit and grow. She believes in focusing on the present and future to encourage her clients to positively change their thinking patterns, and to look forward with hope.
Clients typically participate in therapy for 12 weeks, attending one session per week. The evaluation in the first session allows Rashmi to design an individual therapy plan for each client.
As an example, one of Rashmi’s clients came to her while experiencing depression and passive suicide ideation. After conducting an evaluation and implementing an individual therapy plan utilizing talk therapy, Rashmi worked with the client to identify the stressors in her life, and coping strategies to deal with these stressors. This client was able to confront her past experiences and long-held thinking patterns, feeling resolved enough to discontinue therapy after the 8th week.
Rashmi is passionate in advocating for adults and elderly mental health services. She believes that improving the mental health of one person can have a profound impact in their family and in their greater communities.
In her free time, Rashmi volunteers with ACT for Mental Health, a local therapeutic community center in downtown San Jose, Ca. Her philosophy is, “no one should be denied access to therapy due to their inability to pay.”
Rashmi is currently accepting new clients on the El Camino Hospital Campus, and is an approved Medicare provider. Senior clients have access to her therapeutic services with little to no out-of-pocket expenses.
